Azimut

Wilfrid Lupano spins a wonderful yarn of fun, flawed characters - who could've jumped straight out of the works of Lewis Carroll - on a spectacular adventure, with mesmerising art by Jean-Baptiste Andréae.

Curtain Call

Curtain Call

Vincent is spiraling down the drain, circling himself with no clue of what direction his life should take. He has already abandoned the woman he loved and their newborn child he never met, frightened of the responsibility of fatherhood. That's too much like growing up. But now, with nothing in his life but a barfly drinking buddy named Gaby Rocket, he's ready to finally fix himself and make things right. And that all starts with a bank truck heist . . .   But for Vincent, it's not about the money. He sees an opportunity to do something noble and good in the midst of this crime: reunite the bank truck's driver with his estranged gay son, and even secretly reward them both with half of the stolen money. Unfortunately, Gaby isn't completely on board with that noble end goal, focusing more on the treasure that could set them up for life.   As can be expected, things don't go as planned for anyone involved. Old ghosts and ingrained social mores pop out of every corner to complicate matters, not only in the execution of Vincent's grand Robin Hood plan, but in his and Gaby's lives as dyed-in-the-wool loners.   A character-driven crime thriller in the proud tradition of Martin Scorsese and the Coen Brothers, where the caper itself is just the framework for an engaging and engrossing set of character studies, written by award-winning author Wilfrid Lupano and illustrated by DreamWorks animator Rodolphe Guenoden.

The Hartlepool Monkey

The Hartlepool Monkey

1814, near the little village of Hartlepool England, a war-ship in the Napoleonic fleet sinks. Amid the wreckage, fishermen discover a survivor: a monkey dressed in full military regalia, the mascot of the shipwrecked French vessel. The people of Hartlepool despised all Frenchmen and, though they have never seen a Frenchmen - or a monkey for that matter, the ape unfortunatly found himself court martialled. Inspired by the famous legend of the Hartlepool monkey, this is a tragi-comic fable of war and jingoism, of xenophobia and ignorance and of the glimmering of enlightenment.

White All Around

White All Around

Canterbury, Connecticut, 1832: a charming female boarding school has found success among the locals, with two dozen girls enrolled. Some in town question the purpose of educating young girls—but surely there’s no harm in trying? At least not until the Prudence Crandall School announces its plans to start accepting black students. Thirty years before the abolition of slavery in the United States, in the so-called “free” North, these students will be met by a wave of hostility that puts the future of the school in question, and their very lives in peril. Even in the land of the free, not all of America’s children are welcome.

The Old Geezers

The Old Geezers

Three old geezers, activists, and lifelong friends reunite at the funeral of the wife of one of them, Antoine, who finds out about a long ago liaison between his dearly departed and the reviled billionaire who owns the factory they all worked in. Livid, Antoine jumps in his car and heads for Italy with revenge on his mind, his two buddies and his pregnant granddaughter following close behind. A chance to reminisce about the past, to fantasize about sticking it to the man, to discuss what’s wrong with the world, to bridge the generation gap, to forgive and forget and settle scores. A wickedly funny geriatric road trip!
