Arachne bring home her college boyfriend, Lupus, for dinner to meet her Uncle Cyrus. While she is tending to the meal, Cyrus recounts the tale of an ancient scroll which contains Arachne's secret weaving technique. Over dinner, he tells the tale of how it came into his possession and the tragedy which befell his niece's father. Later in the evening, Arachne tells the tale of a little girl with tuberculosis preserved in a doll until a cure could be found. Before Lupus is allowed to leave, he must share a story of his own. He tells a quick one of a hunter searching for a creature, the last of its kind, which has traversed several continents.
