What If? (1977)
In this issue we see Peter Parker in need of money. Just as he did in the first issue of Amazing Spiderman, he goes to the Fantastic Four to join, and hopes to earn a paycheck. We are then given an introduction to the Marvel Multiverse by the watcher, and told many Universes mirror ours and differ greatly, all because of one small difference. In this case instead of turning him down, the Fantastic Four agree to have him in the group. This actually becomes a problem, since Reed does not want to have Sue in danger he constantly tells Sue to stay behind. Feeling unwanted and useless she finds solace in the arms of the Sub-Mariner.

Welcome Back, Kotter
High school sit-com "Welcome Back Kotter" was a smash hit for ABC-TV in 1975. In 1976, DC made the group of juvenile delinquents - the Sweathogs - hit the books (for a change), bringing their classroom antics into their own sit-comic. The first issue, written by Elliott S! Maggin with spot - on likenesses rendered by Jack Sparling, actually gave teacher Mr. Kotter an opportunity to transfer out of Brooklyn's James Buchanan High School. However, his wife Julie and the Sweathogs intervened.
Genre: Fantasy
Weird War Tales (1997)
"The Willow Warriors" is a story of an eternal confrontation between two shoguns who, after their factions' continuous failure to earn victory, have decided to send their most powerful fighters to settle the battle.
Weird War Tales (1971)
With the Comics Code Authority relaxing its decades long stance on censoring the use of monsters and the undead in mainstream comics, DC placed an emphasis on the horror of combat with "Weird War Tales." The hybrid genre series was hosted by death, who appeared in new military garb every issue to present gritty tales of combat with overtones of suspense, science fiction, and paranormal activity. Produced by a who's who of war comic greats, including series editor Joe Kubert, writer Robert Kanigher, and artists Alex Toth and Russ Heath, the series' 124-issue run also introduced readers to cult favorites like the Creature Commandos.
