We start in summer in Vanaheim. A battle is being waged by raiding Aesirs with the defending Vanirs and of course Conan is in the middle of this too. He is in his youth at this time and he sees an Aesir being attacked and here he decides that it is not to do with him because he has earned his gold. But why let 3 jackals live? His response, By Crom they should not and by crom they shall not. You know what happens next. He takes a swipe with his sword and kills 2 helping Olav of Aesgaard. The Vanirs flee leaving Conan and his party some time to heal wounds and bury the dead ones....

Growing restless of village life, and thirsting for adventure, Conan travels north to snowy regions of Asgard. There he comes across an Aesir villages being plundered by Vanirmen. When he intervenes to rescue an Aesir woman, Conan finds himself single-handedly fighting off the Vanir invaders.

This series was the replacement of the second Conan series, Conan the Adventurer as well as the third (and last ongoing) Conan series, simply called Conan . After that Marvel published many mini-series up until 1998, when they sold the rights to publish Conan.

The 'other' team band of soldiers with many colorful characters. It was a team much like Nick Fury and his Howling Commandos. The two teams even teamed up some times. This series was however not as popular as Nick Fury's team and was canceled after 9 issues.
