Even in a world where magic is an accepted fact, and Satan uses advertising agencies to encourage people to commit sins and go to Hell, the suicidal Zane didn't expect that an actual personification of Death would walk through his door just before he pulled the trigger to shoot himself in the head. Startled, Zane accidentally shot Death, and killed him. In the aftermath of this, Zane discovers that abstract concepts such as Death, as well as Fate, Time, Love and so on, are all represented by human avatars who do the job for a time until circumstances force others to take up their role, and that by slaying the previous Death, Zane has inherited the title. Now Zane is responsible for collecting the souls of those about to die, and judging them to decide whether they go to Heaven, Hell or somewhere else.
Gen13 artist Al Rio's most anticipated title ever has arrived! Exposure reveals the deadly hidden secrets around us, as two gorgeous females blow the lid off the truths we take for granted. One is now a uniformed cop who married and divorced a cop; the other, a doctor who delved into more metaphysical answers. In "Black Sabbath," the girls meet again when careers cross paths in San Diego. Abetted by smitten scientist Alan Wong and charismatic biker bud/computer whiz Graham Burroughs, the foursome leaps into an explosive, action-packed adventure against a swarm of age-old vampires and their 2000-year secret.
A legendary cult of female assassins sworn to prepare Japan for the return of the dragons at the turn of the millennium; the betrayal of a woman named Deathkiss; and a beautiful exotic dancer who appears in the night, offering solace and friendship to a young writer who once saved her life. It's a race to the true millennium, 2001, and a fight for a nation's very survival! A special extra-length story, "Jewels of the Rising Sun" also includes the hard-to-find original serialized ashcan backup story arc (never before seen in color)!
